Some people say it is great to have a hobby. Others consider it unless.
What is your point of view?
My mother says it is great to have a hobby. My father thinks that it is silly and unless to have a hobby. I think it is very useful to have a hobby.
To my mind, a hobby helps us to choose our future profession because we learn a lot of new things. We try to understand what we want and expect. Secondly, we have a lot of free time and it is better to fill it. For example, you are interested in music. You may collect records, CDs, musical posters. It’s wonderful! Others like reading and collecting books. You may visit libraries and books shops. Thirdly, a hobby helps us to be closer to each other and spend our free time together.
I would like to speak about my friend. Her name is Polly. She thinks it is silly to have a hobby. Besides it’s a waste of time. I can’t agree with her. I believe a hobby makes our life more interesting. A hobby helps to relax, to understand things better and to have a rest.
To sum up, it’s up to you to have a hobby or not. Both grow-ups and children are fond of playing different computer games. Some people are fond of reading, some of gardening and growing roses. As for me, I don’t like computer games. It’s my opinion. But I know exactly, it’s very useful to have a hobby.

......Nowadays you may live and work in any place which you have chosen-in your native country or abroad. Which is better? As for me, I prefer to stay in my own country.
......Why? Now I would like to answer this question providing some arguments for my choice. Firstly, it is your own motherland. You were born, brought up and educated here. So, if you are a real citizen of your country, you should be grateful to it. Secondly, it is your duty to help it to overcome all political and economic difficulties, if you do it, you may be proud of your country and yourself. Moreover, it is rather difficult for Russians to leave their relatives, friends and naturalize abroad.
......But some people are eager to leave their native country and try to do their best to immigrate to Britain, the USA, or somewhere else saying that only there they can realize themselves, get a well-paid job, and make a career. I do not support their point of view. Really, you should get education in Russia- it is one of the best in the world. I can’t but say that, of course, you may live for some time abroad to improve your foreign language and practice in some foreign company. Then you will be wildly demanded in Russia and your moral and financial ambitions.
......All in all, I would like to stress that, really, there is no place like home. And it is better to understand it earlier than later and not suffer from nostalgia.

There is British English and American English. But have you ever thought which is more preferable? I have! And, besides, I have asked some people this question. Some think British English is better, others are for American English. Personally I consider British English better.
....... I can prove my point of view. Firstly, this variant is widely spread all over the world because the UK had a lot of colonies all over the world once, and the people of these former colonies speak British English as their state language or a second language. Secondly, British English is more classical. It has a longer history than American English and, to my mind, is more perfect. Besides, isn’t British English more pleasant to hear?
.....I am sorry to say but some people think that American English is more modern and future belongs to it. What to say? I t seems to me that they are mistaken: British English has been tested by time and, I am quite sure, will remain the world’s top language.
...... To finish, I would like to stress that I think much of British English because it’s so rich in vocabulary , various phrasal verbs, set expressions that can help you to present any ideas you would like to. Of course , you may agree or not but try to disprove my point of view, will you?

...... Nowadays a lot of people are quite sure that learning foreign languages is of great importance. It goes without saying that every intelligent person should know at least one foreign language, and many people choose one of the international languages. English is the top language. But, as you know, there are two variants of English: British English and American English. Which to choose? Some people prefer the former one, others are for the latter. As for me, I’m for American English.
......Let me prove my point of view, will you? Firstly, the USA is dominating in the political and economic life of the world. To communicate with American politicians and representatives of business we should speak the variant of the language they are used to. Secondly, concerning spelling it’s much easier than the British variant. For example, we can write «color» instead of colour. Moreover, American pronunciation, in my opinion, sounds cooler.
.......But nevertheless, many people think that British English is more preferable because it’s a classical one. But have you ever been to Britain? If yes, then you can’t but agree that even the British, especially the youth, start to use American English.
.....On the whole, at the end of my composition I would like to stress that American English is to my liking because it helps me to feel more modern. Of course, you can choose any variant. They both are understandable for those who have mastered at least one of them.

....Somebody thinks that people must stay in their motherland. But others say it’s better to go abroad .As for me, I am for living and working in my native country.
.....Now I will try to prove my opinion. Firstly, people who prefer to live in their native country know their native language and use it everywhere. As for the people who would like to live abroad it will be very difficult for them because people get used to changing the language very hard. Secondly, people will also have to get used to some traditions and laws. Besides, if something is good for their native country, it may be bad for a foreign country. Different countries have different values, cultures, religions, and laws. Thirdly, I think, to leave your native country is not patriotic because your country spends much money on your education. But many good specialists go abroad, and it, in its turn, slows down the development of our motherland.
But there is another point of view. Some people think there are good jobs to be found and careers to be made abroad. I don’t agree with these people. In my view, people can get it all in their native country too.
.....In conclusion, I would like to stress that I am for living in my native country. In my view, this is good if people live in their motherland and respect everything that belongs to the place where they were born. But, this problem is difficult, and different people have different views.

Nowadays English is the most influential language in the world. But there’re different varieties of English nowadays. More and more people start speaking American English though I prefer British.
Why does British English appeal to me? Firstly, British English is more beautiful from my point of view. The British pay more attention to their grammar and pronunciation than the Americans. Secondly, a lot of famous poets and writers came from Great Britain, like William Shakespeare or Oscar Wild. Their works are still in great demand because of deep sense and eternal issues they deal with. Furthermore, it’s prestigious to get education in Great Britain. But how can you enter such a university as Oxford, if you can say hardly a word in British English?
On the other hand, American English is spoken by more and more people. The USA gave us Hollywood stars, I-phones… So fans of new technologies want to study American English. To my mind, you may use these technologies but not simplified spelling. Some think that the standard of life in America is higher than in other countries. That’s why America has become a multicultural country with immigrants from all over the world! However, I can’t see the reason, why Standard English can’t unite all these immigrants.
Comparing these two languages, I can say than British English is more preferable for me. American English is a young language. British English is an ancient language with abundance of unique words. It’s exciting to study the history of English and the culture of the peoples who gave us this language.

Hobby takes a big part in man’s life. But naturally people have different opinions and some people think that hobby is a silly pastime. So, we will consider points of view at a hobby.
I think that hobby is necessary for the person, it is impossible to live without it, as life without hobbies is uninteresting.
Firstly, the hobby helps a person to become developed and interesting to people. Really, such hobbies as classical music, the collecting of historical coins raise level of your knowledge. Secondly, hobby is an interesting pastime. Instead of useless watching TV, it is possible to set about your favourite occupation. Thirdly, you can realize your abilities. Really, the things which were made by your hands are a product of our imagination. They warm our souls.
But some people can name hobby disadvantages. They think that some hobbies are very expensive. For example, some people collect expensive dolls. But such hobbies are rare as they are only for rich people. Also, some hobbies take a lot of time. For example, designing of tiny houses is a hobby, on which we spend a lot of hours. Such hobbies don't suit people occupied with work or a family.
In conclusion, I would like to say “Tastes differ”. I am sure a hobby is an excellent way to spend free time considering interests of different people.

In my opinion British English is a classical language with its stable grammar , phonetics and vocabulary which has a historical foundation. The British variant of the language has been studied all over the world for many years.
...Firstly, British English became a prototype of an American one that is a dialect, which has developed its own features. Secondly, British English is used almost in every sphere of our life: science, literature, education and etc. Thirdly, if you go abroad to Asia, Europe, Africa the British variant is more widespread.
...On the one hand , American English has differences because it is a mixture of several languages . When first travellers came to America, they had to communicate with native inhabitants, they gave their own names to speciments of flora and fauna, subjects of life. So the language has changed. On the other hand, American English has become more.Popular nowadays. The USA has a great influence on the situation in the world . In addition , the mass media promotes wides spread of the American variant.
...To sum it up, studying British English is more useful than American English. The British variant of English is more difficult, many sided and combined. If a person can core with it, it will not be difficult to learn an American variant.

...To begin with one argument in support of my point of view is knowledge of the place you live in, the people< the traditions, the laws, the life of your country. It is the main advantage of living and working here. Another good thing about living in your native country is – relatives and friends. One should notice here that friends or relatives’ supporting is very important thing. Finally we live in the country which doubtless needs you, your ideas, creativity and ingenuity.
...The other side of the point is, however, that some people prefer living and working abroad. They suppose there are more opportunities for creativity and making a career. The people living abroad are socially protected. Old people are able to travel any country they want. The first thing that needs to be said is other countries are not so huge as ours. That’s why they have less problems than our country does. The second thing one should not forget is that our country has endured some revolutions and wars.
...In conclusion I can say that “East or West home is best”. So it’s up to everybody to decide whether to live in the place where he was born or stay abroad.

...What to do if you want to be happier? Some people answer, “Find a hobby.” Others say that a hobby is a waste of time. Who is wiser? I am quite sure that those who do something to their liking.
...I’ll try to prove it speaking about me. I have a hobby. It’s sport. How does it make me happier? Firstly, I train and follow a healthy way of life. So my body and character are getting stronger. Besides, I understand well the harm of overeating, smoking, drug and alcohol abuse. Also, training and participating in competitions I often win, and these victories help me to realize my ambitions and become a selfsatisfied person. Moreover, sport gives me an opportunity to travel, visit various places, and it means to get new knowledge and widen the boundaries of the world.
...Sorry to say, but some people don’t have a hobby. They only work. But to my mind, their mental and physical health is in danger. They forget that “only work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
...In conclusion, I would like to repeat that everyone should have a hobby because it helps to do something pleasant and relax. Even if you hesitate, just only try, and you’ll feel much happier.

... I consider that everything depends on a person, but if I had to make such a choice, I would have chosen work abroad. Firstly, it will be able to help you to improve your speaking. Secondly, your vocabulary will increase. Moreover, you will be given a chance to learn every nuance of another language.
... However, there are also some disadvantages. The main one is that you won’t be able to see your family very often. Another one is that it won’t be very easy to get used to another country, to its laws and rules. But if you really want to have a prestigious job, you must overcome yourself. One English proverb claims: “No pains, no gains”. I absolutely agree with it.
... So, at last I want to say that it is better to work abroad and get a great experience and then to come back home and take advantage of it. But tastes differ and you are to do the main choice: whether to stay at home or to go abroad to find a job.

...Firstly, when a person lives in his native country – everything is close and familiar to him. There is no problem to communicate and understand each other. Everything is native here: your family and friends, who support in difficult situations. Secondly, different cultures often have different notions of good manners. It’s difficult to a person to adapt to new conditions of life. An excellent etiquette in one society may be absolutely inappropriate in another.
It’s very important to remember that rules of behavior can vary widely between different cultures. Thirdly, a foreign language is also a difficulty of living abroad. If a man wants to study and work in another country he should know a foreign language well. But a language doesn’t come easily to each of us. It’s a hard work for some people.
However, other people suppose everything is better abroad: there’re a lot of possibilities for study, work and rest there. The educational institutions are more prestige abroad and so rich people send their children to study in others countries. Well education gives possibility to find high-paid work. But to my mind, there is no difference where you get the education. The main thing is skills and knowledge which you have. Everything depends on you
To sum up, every person chooses his own way of life. The proverb says “Home is where the heart is” and I absolutely agree with this statement.

And due to our favourite pastime we can cheer up and say: "Don’t worry, be happy."Secondly, a hobby can unite people with the same interests. It is easy to make new friends if you share interests of each other. Thirdly, a hobby becomes a person’s life work. For example, a young girl makes dresses for herself, friends and then she chooses a profession of a designer.
...However, some people think that a hobby is a dangerous pastime. They mean that people spend too much time on their hobbies playing computer games instead of spending time with their family and their friends. But in my opinion we shouldn’t mix definitions of a hobby and addictions. Nowadays, to my mind, surfing the Internet isn’t a hobby, it’s serious diseases for teenagers and grown ups. People should know where to stop.
...In conclusion I’d like to say that tastes are differ. But, as for me, I can’t imagine my life without my hobby. It decorates my life. And don’t forget about the golden mean.

...Employers prefer people who have a hobby because it proves that a person is vigorous and possesses a wide range of interests. So, if you have a hobby, never forget to specify it in the resume, the questionnaire, or to mention it in an interview. Employers always pay attention to it.

...To my mind, life abroad is good, but people should live in their native country. I think that the first point of view has some truth. It, of course, appeared due to some reasons. To my mind, it is possible to live abroad, but not for a long time, because after a while no doubt you will begin to miss home. It is also good to live abroad and work for the benefit of your native country. It is good to have own flat or house abroad, for example on the seaside, and go there in summer.
...Living conditions are better abroad, of course. But to my mind, people should live in their country. Although, leaving their native country is a personal choice of all people living there, and there's no need to criticize them. But most of very famous people who have gone abroad, returned to Russia after years, even if they achieved popularity in other countries. But at any available opportunity Russians and representatives of other countries leave their native countries. Why? Unfortunately, I cannot answer this question. Everyone has their reasons.
...It is believed that life abroad is better. I think that this point of view has the right to exist, but people should live in their native country.

... Hobbies are diffrent. If you have chosen a hobby according to your character and taste, you are lucky because your life becomes more interesting. You can do things, create things, collect things, learn things. Hobby is undertaken for pleasure, typically done during one's leisure time. People who enjoy playing sports may be amateur athletes. Also hobbies often help to develop your knowledge. As for me, I have several hobbies. I like to play volleyball, and I'm fond of swimming. They help me to keep fit. Also I like to sing. If I have free time I can spend it with pleasure.
...Other people think, that hobbies are useless, for example, collecting things or something else. To be honest, I think that collecting candy wrappers is really useless. Some people think that embraidery is useless too. But if man likes it, it can't be useless. For every person his hobby is usefull and interesting.
...To my mind, there are no people in the world, who has no a hobbie. If you have free time and you don't know what to do, you may spend it interesting thanks to your hobby.

Many people think that to have a hobby is great, others consider it to be a foolish waste of time. I will try to prove, that having a hobby is really fun.
First, to have an occupation which you like is good. In is a common knowledge that hobby improves your spirits, brightens free time, makes time more interesting and useful. In addition, you can find a lot of new in the world you are interested in.
Secondly, hobbies fill human life with meaning, if a person, for example is alone.
Third, a hobby can be a good way to overcome stresses, besides hobbies often help to expand your outlook, to widen the circle of friends and find a way in your life. Actually I strongly support and share this approach.
But, unfortunately, some people find, that hobby is a meaningless free time, whatever it is, consider a hobby to be a waste of time and even money. Some people just cannot afford to be engaged into a pleasant pastime.
As for me I believe strongly that having hobby is fine! It helps people a lot in their lives. Very often some of hobbies become a matter of life, the profession of a person. I know such cases. For example, people, who loved to draw, become well-known painters, those who loved to sing, become singers… There are so many interesting occupations in the world and the main thing is to become interested and everything will return to you.

If we look in the dictionary we will find there exact definition of a word hobby. Hobby is a kind of human activity, an entertainment version, a certain employment, hobby in which regularly are engaged at a leisure. I think that hobby is a wonderful pastime and every person must have a hobby. But other
people do not agree with me.
Firstly, hobby is quite interesting pastime which can lead to interesting acquaintance to new people, fascinating discussions and an excellent method for conversation with the person unfamiliar to you. A hobby entertains people of all sexs and ages, nationalities and countries. All people search for themselves in lives, the interest which will distract them from sad thoughts, experiences, will cheer up and will help to be switched.
Secondly, a hobby can be found absolutely casually. It can be knitting, photographing, drawing, and parachute jumps, rock-climbing or swimming. Some consider that a hobby is empty pastime, a space from work or cares. But in my view, this opinion is erroneous. Everyone has the right to a hobby, simple pleasure for free minutes.
